The Festival of Ideas (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you purchase tickets for or attend the Dissident Dialogues event.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information strictly necessary to facilitate your attendance at the event. This typically includes:

  • Contact Information: Name, email address, and phone number.

  • Billing Information: Payment details (processed securely by our payment processor; we do not store full credit card numbers).

  • Identity Verification: Because tickets are non-transferable, we require the full name of the attendee to match against a valid ID at the door.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data solely for the purposes of organizing and running Dissident Dialogues. This includes:

  • Ticket Delivery: Sending your ticket confirmation and digital entrance codes.

  • Event Updates: Notifying you of schedule changes, venue details, or urgent announcements.

  • Entry Management: Verifying your identity at the venue entrance.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We respect your privacy. Your information will never be made public.

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes, with the single specific exception outlined below:

UnHerd Subscription Opt-In During the checkout process, you may be presented with an option to purchase or add a subscription to UnHerd.

  • If you do NOT select this option: Your data remains strictly with The Festival of Ideas and is not shared with UnHerd.

  • If you DO select this option: We will share your relevant contact information (Name and Email) exclusively with UnHerd for the sole purpose of fulfilling your subscription and managing your account with them.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access. Access to your personal information is restricted to essential personnel required to operate the event.
